A fusion of ethnic and electro music.
Magda Navarrete’s “Iman” project blends styles, time periods, sounds and cultures. It mixes boleros of the 1930s with electronics, flamenco with the orient, Poland with the world, tradition with modernity and elegance with madness.
Iman is a fusion of Latin music and ethnic rhythms, enclosed by electronics. MUSIC which is balanced, but passionate. The idea for the album emerged at the street markets of Uruguay’s capital Montevideo and Warsaw’s Praga district. Old vinyl records found there set – after a few music and rhythm experiments – the newest trend: “electro bolero”.
Iman is Magda Navarrete’s second album published by Agora in 2011. Guest star Staszek Soyka himself sang in the Spanish-language version of “Uciekaj moje serce” – “Vete mi Corazón” . There also exists a live version of this project with Staszek Soyka.
